I'm late to the thread, but when I went to pick up my copy of FFXIII the other day the guy looked at his computer and asked me if I wanted to pre-order FFXIV. My first reaction was to hiss, which I think surprised him as much as it did me. I hastily explained to him that I play FFXI and I've enjoyed it, but I think Zen put it best, SE is horrible at the business model of an MMO.

When taken on the merits of their *console* games I (almost) blindly buy them, but started taking second looks after The World Ends With You (which I've shred to pieces on this forum ^^; ) It wasn't FFXI that made me lose faith, but TWEWY >.>;

Having said that... I <3 The Bouncer, but I was also a huge Final Fight fan. I wish Drakengard had been a better Dynasty Warriors / Panzer Dragon rip-off (I bought both Drakengard 1 & 2 ^^; )

I'm not sure how I feel about FFXIII so far. I kinda wish there was and I played a demo of it first. I enjoy the ATB system about as much as being kicked in the shin. It's always the first thing I turn off whenever I replay FF games. If I'd known that FFXIII hinged on it I prolly would've waited on buying it until it joined the Platinum Hits collection (if 360s have that, otherwise I'm sure I'll be seeing it used for under $20 in 6 months), but it's my own fault. I went out of my way to learn nothing about the game so I wouldn't be spoiled / disappointed. Ended up disappointed anyway D: Hope the battle system grows on me...
